Moirang phee cotton saree Manipur white and orange

Moirang Phee is a GI-tagged traditional handwoven textile from Manipur, crafted by women using cotton or silk on throw-shuttle looms. Its defining feature is the Moirangpheejin border—interlocking triangular motifs (Yarongphi) representing the teeth of the mythical deity Pakhangba!!

Deeply rooted in history of the Meitei community it was originally made on INAPHEE AND PHANEKS ( shawls and skirts ) but now also woven on sarees and stoles etc.
