Bandhani on Tussar silk with Frieda Kahlo Faceon Pallu

This saree was made using pure desi handloom tussar and we have used hand bandhani technique to create the outline of the face of the painter on the pallu which we have then dyed with a contrasting rich purple pink shade and the rest of the body in a dark steel grey. The blouse is also same colour as the body of the saree.

The entire saree is highlighted with a contrast colour purple lace in temple design. This is a unique in house creation.

Mexican artist Frida Kahlo is remembered for her self-portraits, pain and passion, and bold, vibrant colors. She is celebrated in Mexico for her attention to Mexican and indigenous culture and by feminists for her depiction of the female experience and form.
